Kaaos Company is shaped by a dedicated group of artists, adminitrators, and facilitators who believe in the power of inclusive dance to shift perspectives and build connection. At the heart of our work are disabled and non-disabled dancers who bring their lived experience, creativity, and curiosity into every project. Our team includes choreographers, educators, and producers —each committed to making dance that is bold, collaborative, and rooted in equality.
Together, we create a space where different bodies, voices, and ways of moving are not just included, but central to the art we make. On this page, you’ll meet the people who keep Kaaos moving.

Gunilla Sjövall
In my youthful dreams, I saw myself as a dancer. However, it took almost 50 years before I dared to start making my dream come true (you can’t dance in a wheelchair…!). The barriers were broken when in the summer of 2004, due to lack of work, I participated in Alito Alessi’s (USA) DanceAbility course at the Full Moon Dances contemporary dance festival. My life-changing experience continued the following summer, and in 2006, I traveled to Vienna to complete the DanceAbility teacher training under Alito.
I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t want to share the opportunities I had with others. The result of this was the founding of DanceAbility Finland ry in 2008 and Kaaos Company in 2010. I have been the chairman of DAF for nine years and then as a “back devil”. I have danced in Kaaos since the beginning, most recently in a kind of farewell(?) performance Swan Song (2022) together with Sally Davison.

I have been dancing for about five years now. Then in 2019, I started attending Sunday classes regularly, and little by little I integrated into the community. I am the secretary of the association’s board during this term. In addition to dance, music is also close to my heart. Kadar Khristan
Dancing feels like I can push boundaries. Before dancing, I always knew my limits and the condition of my body, which often felt limited. After starting dancing, I realized that boundaries only exist in my mind. The most important thing that dance gave me is the confidence to express myself and be who I am. When I dance, I create new relationships with myself, other people and space. Because dance has been so transformative for me, I want to encourage and support others to discover the movements of the body, mind and emotions that connect us in our humanity. I genuinely enjoy teamwork and want to develop my own talents and skills that have not yet developed to their full potential. I am a curious person and get along with different people in international and multicultural environments. I started dancing with Kaaos Company in 2019 after attending Sunday movement improvisation classes. I have also been involved in Nella Turk’s work in 2021 and in Marc Brew’s choreography, which was realized in collaboration with CODA Festival and Oslo Opera House in 2022.
