    The X Dance Festival not only celebrated the integrated arts movement but also fostered a deeper connection with everyone and others through the universal language of dance.

    I needed this festival so much and I didn’t know that until I experienced all the strong connections that I created and all the love that I felt. It made me so happy. I left the festival feeling loved and supported as a disabled artist. There was so much care, love and laughter.

    Participation has meant a weekly pause in my body and sensing its needs. Before joining Kaaos Company, I used to do contemporary and hip hop dance, but a sense of purpose or some sort of requirement for it eventually took the joy out of the whole thing and I stopped. I love the fact that I can participate in each class from whatever starting point and state of being, and I never got the feeling that I was doing too little or that the limited mobility of my body would ruin the beauty of some finished choreography. The most meditative moment of Sunday.
